What to expect from applying to hiring
Starting on the path to a new career can be nerve-wracking. Even before beginning work at QBE FIRST, prospective employees can see that we are an organization that believes in transparency of expectations.
Although there are situations and circumstances which alter the process, this is the general process applicants can expect from QBE FIRST's hiring professionals. Applying for a position
You may submit a resume to QBE FIRST for a specific job using any of the following methods:
- Job boards
- QBE FIRST Web site
- Job fairs
*Electronic submissions are strongly preferred over paper resumes. It is the fastest way to be considered for a position. Please be assured that once you submit your information, it is received by our recruiters in real time. An online submission of your resume will be acknowledged via email.
For one year after receipt, your profile and resume will remain active in our system to allow QBE FIRST recruiters to consider you for future openings that match your qualifications.
Screening and interviews
The screening and interview process varies by position. A QBE FIRST recruiter will advise you on the series of activities and requirements that apply to your situation.
Background checks
Here, we will request authorization to conduct background checks from each candidate who progresses beyond the interview stage. These background checks cover:
- Employment history
- References
- Educational qualifications, etc.
