    QBE FIRST recognized our clients’ need for a Geographic Information System (GIS) tool to help understand the potential exposure from major catastrophe events. Our GIS catastrophe management application, available within our online portal, uses award-winning, state-of-the-art technology to provide you with the resources to better forecast the impact of catastrophes on your portfolios.

    Along with advanced technology, we have a dedicated team who brings a unique skill set to further boost the protection our GIS catastrophe system can provide to you. Our team includes catastrophe modelers, catastrophe risk analysts (certified by Risk Management Solutions, Inc.) and GIS professionals.

    Powerful tools

    • A storm/hurricane layer is automatically created for each named storm based on data received directly from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)  
    • Zoom in on specific properties for which QBE FIRST has data in a selected area  
    • Users can select a predefined spatial selection of the tracked storm  
    • Find out which properties are forecasted to be in the storm’s path with the next three to five days 
    • View where the eye of the storm has been 

     

    Reporting capabilities

    Our catastrophe GIS tool provides access to predefined and custom reports:  

    • Loan Summary and Loan Detail reports indicate loans in the impacted or selected area along with their outstanding loan balances 
    • Real-time hurricane storm development patterns 
    • Automated damage-ratio loss estimate calculations of all properties located in the path of a hurricane
